Botanic Blending helps cosmetics and personal care companies ensure safety and quality with cutting-edge, reliable product testing. Whether you're looking to examine chemical ingredients, formulate a new product or measure safety and effectiveness, our facilities can accommodate you. Our testing includes but is not limited to the following:
Non-Comedogenic Testing
At Botanic Blending our Non-Comedogenic testing trials measure the condition of skin after two, four or six weeks after the use of your product. Our evaluation team records the skin condition of our clinical volunteers, including a detailed counting and description of blackhead and acne formation, before assessment is made at pre-determined intervals.
Non-Comedogenic testing allows for claims such as “Non-Comedogenic,” “Tested Under Dermatological Control” and “Safe For Skin” to be included on labels and in descriptions.
Sensitive Skin Testing
Pending subject and volunteer availability, Botanic Blending offers sensitive skin testing on subjects who are determined to be skin-sensitive to lactic acid. Our stinging test establishes whether or not your topical product is safe for individuals with sensitive skin, and substantiates claims such as “Suitable For Sensitive Skin,” “Safe For Sensitive Skin,” “Tested On Sensitive Skin” and more.

RIPT Testing (Repeat Insult Patch Test)
RIPT testing measures and evaluates the safety of products and formulations via direct, controlled testing to determine potential for irritation and sensitization. Our RIPT testing is conducted in accordance with regulatory standards among a panel of 50-100 volunteers. Our RIPT testing can be conducted on product types such as:
- Skin Care
- Hair Care
- Makeup
- Soap
- Laundry Detergent
- Essential Oils
- Acne Solutions
SPF Testing
Botanic Blending specializes in testing Sun Protection Factor in order to verify product labeling claims and requirements. The SPF value of your formula will be based on the timing of redness in skin when exposed to UV radiation when wearing, and not wearing, the product in question.
Our clinical trials are conducted on 50-200 volunteers on a seasonal basis, but special scheduling and expedited testing can be accomodated. Water Resistance and Broad Spectrum Efficacy testing are also available during clinical SPF trials.

UVA/UVB In-Vitro Testing
Measure the level of UVA/UVB protection of your sunscreen products. Topical sunscreens contain molecular complexes which reflect or scatter the photons of UV’s. Our testing ensures the UVA/UVB protection of such products via in-vitro testing methodologies. Necessary for the confirmation of UVA/UVB protection factor.
Antiperspirant Testing
Test and measure the effectiveness and range of antiperspirant products. Whether your personal care or cosmetics product boast antiperspirant or water-resistant capabilities, our stable and controlled environment can reproduce various atmospheric conditions in order to measure the effectiveness of your product and its features.
Control groups of 50 to 100 volunteers can be tested in order to measure antiperspirant effectiveness, deodorant strength, water proofing sweat resistance and more.
